This methodology involves “human” expertise and the physical concepts of subseasonal forcing. The experts study MJO (Madden-Julian Oscillation) indices, equatorial wave filtering products, MJO composite maps and multi-set numerical outputs that are compiled into a presentation medium. During the cyclonic season, this medium is produced almost automatically on a weekly basis and is formally reviewed once a month (in the form of a monthly briefing) by the experts.
